Building the Hazelnut Inn is a family affair and a labour of love. Detailing and theming every square inch, both inside and out, requires diverse skills and many thousands of hours of work. With the opening of the Under Hill Suite now less than a hundred work days distant, we are down to the smaller details. Most ‘themed’ accommodations include some exterior decor, matching curtains and bedspreads, some themed pictures hanging on the walls and perhaps a little fancy trim. We are doing so much more. But that does not mean we are skipping the matching curtains and bedspread. Quite the contrary.
Peter enlisted his mom, Janis, who has many decades of quilting experience, to make sure this job is done right. She also has more fabric in her vast collection than most quilting shops and all of the specialized equipment for the task. Lately, Peter and his mom have been picking patterns, cutting squares and deciding on the arrangement of the pieces for the bedspread, curtains and other fabric details around the room. These fabric pieces will add warmth and charm to the hand-crafted setting to make it even more special.
