Painting the inside of a half scale submersible looks to be as difficult as sculpting one from the outside. It’s a tight fit from any angle. We are making great progress in any event and soon will be working on the outside once more.
Final test fit
We test fit the fish one more time after we shortened the base and it sits in the booth much better. The windows are now situated lower which will allow an easier peek inside to see all of the fine details there. The fish was then pulled out again to make it easier to work on all sides as we do the painting inside. Once that is done I’ll sculpt the mouth of the fish making it ready for the exterior paint. It’s going to be a show stopper when we are done!
Trip to never land
We made a quick day trip over to Chemainus on Vancouver Island today for an errand. As we travelled, I was reminded why we enjoyed living there for so many years. The island is a very beautiful place and we made some wonderful friends there. But as we spent seven hours waiting in ferry parking lots and sitting on the ferry back and forth today I was reminded why we love NOT living on the island. Its a very nice place to visit but there’s no place like home.
