Henry’s new favourite thing is ‘going to work’. He understands the big shop out back is where his daddy, aunty Becke, uncle Grant, Matt, Alyssa, PopPop and grampa go to work each day. He desperately wants to spend time there as well and often asks to go. Going to work is now right up there with riding the tractor - a frequent pastime we enjoy together. The other day, after riding the tractor we decided to ‘go to work’. Hailey snapped this picture (my current favourite) on the sly.
Sub progress
The fish submersible is coming along nicely. The base coats of paint are largely done with the first of the many glazes underway. The painters have discovered what I already well understood, there are thousands of barnacles, each hand sculpted and to be painted one at a time as well. Once the barnacles are painted the glazing and aging will begin in earnest. A small test section of rust has completed around the top entrance hatch and looks fabulous! It should all come together this coming week, just in time to send on its way to the trade show in Florida.
Wheelin!
Matt and I has a busy day cutting many, many pieces of steel and then welding them back together again to form the ‘rolling’ chassis for the VW convertible. Next week we’ll start on the armature for the body work. This little car is going to be as cute as a bug!
