At the trade show Peter and I were often asked to identify our favourite project. We agree on the answer - OUR NEXT ONE! The last day of the four day IAAPA EXPO generally tends to be a little slower than the first three days - especially in the afternoon. In the quieter moments our discussion turned to what we will showcase at next year’s event. We’ve decided to make our display even more interactive by including a photo opportunity as part of our showpiece. We’ll rework the booth structure to make it a little more accessible. In the centre of the display space we’ll ‘float’ a hot rod space tractor of sorts. As we sketched, erased and re-drew our ideas all sorts of schemes were explored. This quick concept undoubtably won’t be the final version but it may well be the starting point for something very cool and fun. Who wouldn’t want to grab a selfie on this ‘walk behind jet kabob’?
Home again, home again, jiggity jog.
We had a great time and met so many wonderful people over the past four days at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions EXPO. At four o’clock this afternoon the gigantic show drew to a close. It was time to pack the display for the journey home. We rolled up the carpets and tucked away the chairs and other equipment. Then, Peter and I swung the side panels closed and fastened them in place with four bolts. We then unrolled the plastic fencing and zip tied it across the front. I snapped a couple of pictures before we handed our shipping documents to the show authorities as we headed out the door for an early supper. Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we’ll be flying home once again!
Ready to tow the line
While Peter and I are attending the IAAPA EXPO in Florida the crew is still hard at work at home. They’ve made great progress on the tow truck feature. The ramp and cover are now ready for paint and the truck looks like it is ready for the sculpted fibreglass reinforced concrete. I have no doubt other pieces are ready as well. We are going to hit the ground running on Monday morning. Tomorrow is the last day of the EXPO. We’ve met so many great people at the show. It looks to be a very busy year ahead!
