Each day we stroke off a few more items that need completion to open the first suite of the Hazelnut Inn. We bent and welded up the final concrete forms for the North Star garden this afternoon. That polished off the last welding project on the upper level and meant we could finally take the welder and related metalworking tools back to the shop. The weather looks good on Thursday and Friday, so the last of the sidewalks will hopefully be poured this week. The curved walkway looks great and with the landscaping will be a welcoming and relaxing outdoor oasis for the suite. Stay tuned for the last concrete pour reveal…
Base coats and blends finished
The Lolo’s Fudgery sign now has all the base coats and blends completed. This week the painting crew will begin work on the multiple glazes followed by the lettering. By the end of the week, this sign should be finished and moved out of the shop. Stay tuned for final pics…
Dragons - a pair
It is not often we repeat ourselves. Building more than one of anything isn’t a whole lot of fun. But the North Star fire pit needs two fire-breathing dragons so in the last couple of days I formed and welded up the second piece. It went much faster than the first. With the two dragons on hand, it is time to weld them into the base. Once that is finished along with the water feature we’ll call up the crane to lift these final pieces into the garden. Stay tuned…
