The entire crew worked hard yesterday to sculpt an entire section of wall for the NEB’s facade. It was an ambitious undertaking as there was a lot of detail involved. This section will be ready for painting next week. The frame that sticks out of the front of the wall is temporary to help safely balance the wall while we work on it and during transport. Stay tuned as this feature is completed…
Sub installation finished
The giant submarine looks right at home as the entrance to the second mini golf at NEB’s Fun World. Their crew did an awesome job on the installation. They poured epoxy floors to create a very professional and clean finish. This is the first fully automated golf I am aware of, complete with ball dispensers and many high-tech features and effects throughout. It is hard to imagine that these massive features were built in our shop more than forty-four hundred kilometres distant.
Perfect plan
Crane lifting days are always exciting and busy. Today was no exception. Our good friend Greg Wishlow arrived promptly sat eight this morning. We had preassembled the base and legs of the waterwheel. We set the hub onto a temporary stand and then lifted and bolted half the wheel onto it. Once fastened we lifted that section into place and bolted to the base. He then allowed the half-wheel to rotate in a controlled fashion. The second half of the wheel was then lifted into position and bolted to the lower half. Everything went much smoother than I had imagined. The wheel was very close to perfect balance and after a spin and noting how everything fit it was time to disassemble the wheel once again. In less than two hours the pieces were back onto the shipping pallet once again. We can now finish the base with the theme work. I love it when a plan comes together so easily! Then it was time to relocate the crane for the big lift at the Hazelnut Inn.
