The sculpting crew made great progress in the tight confines of the Under Hill bathroom. All beams, rocks and plain plaster areas (eventually under the tile) were completed. Tomorrow, the crew will tackle the gnarly and twisted roots. This area will be sculpted and ready for paint by Friday after it cures over the holidays.
First bathroom sculpting
Today was the first day of the final sculpting in the Under Hill Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. The last area we are doing is the entire bathroom, which is themed from top to bottom, as is the whole suite. As Peter finished off the last of the welding, Matt applied the concrete and sculpted the two heavy beams over the toilet. By the end of the week, we hope to be finished with only the final details (paint and tile) left to finish.
It is the beginning of the last full week of work in the shop for 2024. It has been a great year full of lots of fun projects! The sculpted wall panels for NEB’s Fun World in Oshawa are beginning to look less yellow as the painting crew begins the base and blend coats of colour. It will be a busy week as we wrap up this year’s tasks and prepare for the new projects of 2025, some of which will start right after the New Year begins.
