There’s a twelve foot dragon that lives just outside our workshop. He’s made from thousands of small bits of recycled steel from our scrap pile - all welded together to form the scales. After I designed him I showed the drawing to Janis and she instantly approved. She called him the twitter-pated dragon... a dragon in love.
He dances in the flower bed, light as a feather. In his hand he holds a flower and with his other hand he plucks the pedals... she loves me... she loves me not... she loves me!!! There are the right number of pedals of course for a favorable outcome. And the dragon’s eyes feature hearts cut in.
The dragon symbolizes how I still feel after more than 35 years of being married to the sweet girl I started dating back in high school so very long ago. I don’t believe there is a cure! :)
