My grand daughter Phoebe loves to page through my big old atlas which I keep in my studio. It’s been marked through the years with all the places we’ve traveled to do projects. The many, many red dots are really impressive to a four year old.
While the world is still unimaginably big to me I am amazed at how far we have be privileged to travel through the years while doing our unique projects. With the coming of the digital age I am no longer surprised when my phone rings and it’s someone from Australia, Ireland or someplace far, far away calling to ask about a project. We’ve now worked on projects all over North America, Japan and even China. We’ve had people from Sweden, Germany, Holland, Hawaii, and all over North America attend our workshops here in our shop.
Each time I board a plane it seems wondrous to me that I can have breakfast at home with Janis and supper with a client on the other side of the continent three thousand miles from where I started. The world has changed immeasurably since I was Phoebe’s age and we are fortunate enough to get to see a bunch of it too.
