In the tiny town of Yarrow we live far from just about everywhere. We are about 60 miles east of Vancouver, surrounded by lush farmland and beautiful mountains. We keep busy with creative projects that are sent out from our shop to places all over North America and sometimes far beyond. On occasion I wonder just how our clients manage to find us.
The road we live on is busy in the summer months as it is on the way to a popular summer vacation spot. Lots of folks come up our driveway, having found us by chance. They are curious about what we do in this magical place. Some of these folks become our customers.
Others are referred to us by previous clients and want a similar project for themselves. The articles I write for magazines certainly make my phone ring with enquiries. Numerous national and international awards have garnered a lot of attention for our little company as well. We’ve been featured in the regional newspapers and on television which builds awareness in a hurry. And in this wonderful electronic age our website also brings us a lot of business too. There are so many ways our clients can find us even though we are often far away from them geographically.
We have a small plaque in our entryway of our house that reads... ‘there isn’t any place anything like this place anywhere near this place so this must be the place’. It sums things up nicely.
