Each year many people around me make New Year’s resolutions. And each year I see most of these promises get broken.
I don’t really make them myself - at least not as part of my holiday celebrations. I set goals each year without a doubt. As the end of the year rolls around I take stock of what was accomplished in the past year and what still needs doing. I also set goals for the next year. I think my birthday, right after the New Year is a bigger motivator.
As the years roll around I feel the need to simply put my plans in motion and not overly think them through. While I have some very large dreams, I know they are best accomplished in little bite sized increments, rather than waiting for when I might finally have the time or money.
While huge dreams and big goals are great to achieve, life is much better spent celebrating the little things we do manage to pull off each day.
One of my annual goals is to refresh our website making things ready for another year. With our hosting workshops twice each year the information quickly becomes out of date. It’s a great motivator.
Today our new site became live, one more small accomplishment worth celebrating. Thanks to Dale at CyberPage for putting the code to my design and flipping the switch to make it go.
Another year is quickly winding down. I encourage all to make time for the important things like family and friends. Take the time to purposely make at least a small step towards your life goals.
