The nautical theme room has now officially taken over our shop. It happens each time we take on a big project. It isn’t long until the roomy shop suddenly becomes too small, impossible to walk from end to end without twisting and turning around half finished pieces.
The piles of new materials gradually shrink and finished pieces lean against all the walls and against unused tables. Once the paint hardens we’ll condense things to make room for the next wave of pieces currently in assembly.
I find it exciting to finally see the things I have dreamed of and drawn for the last months suddenly become real and larger than life. I’m looking forward to the next phase when we start assembling them on the worksite and then applying the final colors to make it all real.
We have the specialty paints on the way from California, the LED lighting in transit from Quebec and various other pieces from wherever they are made. Like always it will come together perfectly with minutes to spare on our deadline.
