Today I started dismantling the golf cart for the diminutive tow truck parade float in progress. I wasn’t worried about saving the golf cart body for it had seen much better days. To speed up the dismantling process I broke out the plasma cutter, a jig saw, various wrenches and sockets, screw drivers and even a big old hammer for the real stubborn parts. I was going to win this battle! In about an hour the pile of broken parts was bigger than what was left. All the metal parts were recycled and the rest found it’s way to the dumpster.
It was down to the bare chassis and plenty of these parts seemed to be hanging loose but still connected. I’ll keep the balance of the aluminum frame intact. I’ll weld up a subframe of lightweight steel tubing and then we’ll fashion the body
Stay tuned for developments...
