Each spring and fall we proudly host a Sign Magic Workshop in our studio and shop. Next week, starting on Thursday morning, folks from across Canada and the USA will start arriving in our shop, eager to learn all they possibly can in a few short days. This workshop, our ninth, promises to be another memorable one.
Over the last days we have been busy designing and creating the name plaques for each attendee. The last of them are still in production. Sample panels have been routed for the hands-on portion of the workshop. We are going through the shop, sorting, organizing and cleaning as everyone does when important guests are coming. Over the next few days I’ll review my notes, organize my instruction material and gather my thoughts. I look forward to the experience, as always, with great anticipation.
While I do my very best to share the countless things we’ve figured out over the last 40 years, I find that inviting people in to our shop is also one of the best possible ways to learn new things myself. It will be three and a half days of intense learning, laughter and good times with new friends who share the same passion as I.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
