After two days of visiting I was ready to have a little me time in the shop. I decided to tackle the somewhat tedious job of welding in more than four hundred rivets. I started at the front of the radiator cover and worked my way backwards. It was a little awkward at times for I had to hold the rivet tight in the hole on one side and then reach inside and weld it onto the back. Those little rivets got really hot in a hurry as I welded but the thick leather gloves shielded my fingers - as long as I didn’t hang on too long. There’s still a long ways to go before the first test ride but things are looking pretty snazzy already! I’m really digging the riveted look!
