Its a car!

It was very exciting to fit the prefabricated hot rod body onto the frame for the first time. It’s one thing to visualize how everything will fit together and quite another to see it for real. There are still many things to do and lots of adjustments to make but I am pleased with how things look to start. I am thinking seriously about lowering the car about two inches. The rear end will be switched out with one that is five inches narrower along with a set of coil over springs. I was considering wider tires and wheels in the rear but after borrowing some large ones from our neighbor and test fitting them to the car I have decided to stick with the size that is on the car. A new steering gear is a must and I have to decide on a shifter as well. I still have to fabricate the fenders, side steps and hood side panels as well as the headers and pipes which will go along the side of the car. After that we will be down to the smaller details like lights and wiring. The exciting news is that we now have a rolling car that will be up and running soon.
