We had the CNC router working on a large project and I went out to check it in the evening. As I entered the shop I was surprised to find the door unlocked and the lights on but I thought Peter had inadvertently left them on. The router was doing just fine. Just as I was about to turn the lights out in the shop on my way out I noticed Phoebe busy in the far corner. Phoebe was working on a school project painting large pieces of styrofoam, parts for props of a drive through Halloween escape experience. Since it was already late in the evening and there was obviously a ways to go I volunteered to help. Phoebe thought about it for a long while (while I begged to help out) and then reluctantly said yes. Even though I had taught everyone in our family how to paint (years ago) they all (including Phoebe it seems) think I’ve lost my touch (or never had it). I took extra effort to paint every nook and cranny, checking my work multiple times. I believed I did OK but as we finished I got that sly smile Phoebe is famous for. I believe it’s possible I may have been Tom Sawyered.
