I finished the sculpting of the oversized ice cream treats today. They look yummy, even without the fancy paint on them that will make them totally believable. Sculpting this project was all about textures, from the smooth jar, dimpled cake, creamy whipping cream, slick orange slice, melting ice cream, crunchy chocolate chunks to the crisp embossed waffle cone. Each texture was fun and done with a different tool and technique. Crumpled tin foil, a block of wood, a paint stir stick, a coarse brush, a steel rod and of course my fingers were all employed to create these delicious textures.
