Gratuitous theme work

To fabricate and transport the large branch of the bridge tree feature we needed to make a sturdy structural pallet to safely hold it. The branch will be bolted to a half inch thick steel plate at one end. This plate matches the end of the branch and the angle duplicates the end of the lower section of tree. The thick heavy steel structure of the stand goes down the centre of the pallet. To fasten it to the lower section and to resist possible twisting I felt it needed some 1/4” plate gusts. Its a simple and quick matter to design these on the computer. But as I designed the little bracket I thought I’d add a little theme work. The four pieces only took a few extra seconds to cut on the CNC plasma cutter. Grinding and welding didn’t change. The metal pallet will be cut up for the scrap metal when the piece get to Nebraska and the fancy bits really didn’t change anything. So why did I do it? Just for fun. I wonder if the customer will notice?
