In reality, my little hot rod is anything but practical, but I would argue it is totally functional. A speedster, by definition, is a stripped down vehicle designed to go fast. I’ll not be racing this little buggy however. Rather than a massive V8 engine it sports a rather tame V6, still plenty enough power for cruising the back roads. Creature comforts are minimal, save for a tuck and roll upholstered bench seat. When I gave the car an imaginary test drive a while back I realized it needed a cup holder to hold a can of Coke. As I thought about where I would locate it I also dreamed about what it might look like. I settled on a steampunk styled cup cooler (or at least what looked like it might cool a beverage. Today, I set the plasma cutter in motion and did a little fitting, assembly and welding. By the end of my shop time I had the Coke ‘cooler’ mounted under the dash board. I still have to hook up a couple of hoses but when I go for my first cruise I’ll be ‘styling’. It’s the only one like it in town!
