The apple tree sports plasma cut leaves. Back when we did the tree sign for the Hazelnut Inn I made some similar leaves and for the first time cut them in threes from ten gage steel plate. This saved a ton of time welding them in place. Once they were secure the stems were easily twisted and bent so things look more random. This time the leaves were a little larger. I managed one hundred and forty sets (threes) out of one sheet of steel and we used two plus sheets to get what we needed. A quick polish with a disc sander took care of the small amount of cutting slag on the bottom edge. They took a lot longer to weld in place the they did to cut but the tree looks fabulous with the leaves in place!
