For so long, when we give a visitor a tour of the Hazelnut Inn we rely heavily on a verbal description of how it will be when it is finished. A peek at the scale model gives our guests a little better idea of how it will look when complete. But with each passing week we have to rely less and less on our description as each suite gradually takes shape. The exterior of Underhill suite is really coming along quickly this past week with much of the underlying steel structure on the front of the building now largely complete. There are many, many hundreds of feet of steel shaped and welded into place. In the next weeks we will begin tying on the galvanized lath and then at last the hand sculpted concrete. By then the vision will be so very much clearer, with only the verbal description being how it will be painted. Stay tuned…
