The metalwork on the Under Hill garden gate is now finished. There are four hundred and forty-seven plasma cut, 10 gauge steel leaves on the tree. The tree itself took about six hundred lineal feet of weld to form the bark. The very heavy door swings easily and fits beautifully. We are now fashioning the armature for the ‘log’ frame which will be sculpted around it next week. Becke is busy staining the tongue and grooved wood planks that will insert into the middle of the door behind the tree.
