There will be many thousands of small details incorporated into the Hazelnut Inn. Some are obvious, but many are small touches which will simply add to the richness of the theme work. These will be missed by many who visit. Everything we do visually supports the stories we are telling so carefully. Inside the wall of the courtyard of the Under Hill suite we needed an electrical junction box. Putting in a PVC waterproof junction box is standard fare and we could have simply painted the lid to blend it seamlessly into the rock work of the wall. Instead, we decided to make the junction box cover a beautiful feature. Peter designed a heart/padlock shaped cover and cut it from three layers of 1/4” thick steel. This will be fastened over the electrical box to hide it in plain sight. For those observant few who happen to notice they will see that the heart lock also happens to perfectly match the dimensional sign which hangs outside the gate. One small detail of thousands.
