Installing the Under Hill garden door proved to be much simpler than we imagined, save for lugging it through the opening and lifting it into place. Three of us working together with a large pry bar and lots of blocking made short work of adjusting the fit so the gap was even all around the door. We welded on some heavy duty, ten inch hinges with built in grease fittings to the door and frame to make it swing perfectly inwards towards the garden. With the door in place we can now weld the armature and begin the sculpting of the rock work one the wall. The wood inserts will be pre-finished in the shop before installation. Each board will install individually through a slot at the top of the door. We plan to add some more wild ideas to make this door even more out of this world! Stay tuned…
