Sandblasting is much less fun than cleaning a very dirty oven. First you don a heavy duty respirator, a thick long sleeve coat and heavy leather gloves. Then you pull a heavy bag over your head with a small plastic window to try to peer out of. Good luck with that! The machinery is extremely noisy and sand blasts everywhere. Then slowly and carefully cover every square inch of wood methodically, not pausing for a moment or else you will blast a hole in the wood. Before you know it the pressure pot is empty and it is time to remove all your clothing and lug a heavy bag of sand to fill the machine… then repeat time after time until the job is done. It sounds like fun doesn’t it! I’ve done enough sandblasting through the years to happily volunteer Peter do the wood for the Under Hill suite door. He did a great job and the effort is well worth the trouble. Stay tuned for the result.
