Digital magic

It was more than five years ago that I bought my iPad pro. I was excited about the new capabilities which would allow me to use the digital pencil to draw right on screen. I’ve used a digital pen to create my illustrations and concepts since 1999 but until the iPad Pro arrived I used a Wacom Tablet, drawing on the pad while watching the screen of the computer. That process was awkward at first but it wasn’t long until I mastered it. I remember back then the computer couldn’t keep up with my drawing. I would do a number of strokes and then I would wait for the computer to put the lines onto the screen. Even so, the process was easier and faster than drawing on paper. Corrections were a snap and best of all I could share the artwork digitally without having to have it scanned and copied with mixed results. The new iPad allowed me to draw, freehand on a screen in real time and see the process as I created my art with a computer and PhotoShop. It allowed me to draw faster and more accurately than on the old digital pad. It was absolutely magical from the very first pen stroke. I captured my first drawing in a movie and posted it way back when. I found it this evening and it is still magical five years later. Now, I’m itching to upgrade to the latest iPad and pencil as I hear they are even better.
