Preventative work.

Today, was very wet and windy. I hear many records that date back more than a hundred years were broken. Flooding was rampant. Roads were washed out all around us. Our little town was stranded with the road closures all around us. Thankfully, we were high and dry. I did the only thing I could do. I braved the wind and rain to run the 300 feet out to the studio and I kept busy, warm and dry at my design table. Janis, who worries more about these kinds of things phoned me to ask that I ready the generator in case the power went out. I happily complied. I knew if I took the trouble to haul out the machine of storage the power would stay on and I would be able to stay dry and warm. The power did stay on (even though it did flicker a few times) and I designed happily at my table while I watched the heavy rains fall and the surrounding trees bend in the fierce winds. It works every time!
