The flooding situation locally continues to stabilize. While many people around us have been severely impacted, most are perfectly fine. The authorities are working tirelessly to open the roads once again and solid plans are in place to build temporary dikes to stave off further flooding. That physical work begins tomorrow. Some necessities are beginning to trickle in although we hear store shelves are largely empty in town. Gas stations locally are all out of fuel but there is no need to travel as we can’t leave in any case. We are hunkering down on property once again, like many times previous in the last couple of years. Supplies we will soon require in our shop won’t be available until next week at the earliest. So we are taking a deep breath and doing our best to just relax and be truly thankful for all we do have. I’m using the time to work hard at my design desk, dreaming up ideas for future projects. We’ll be plenty busy soon enough.
