When we build our themed projects the important thing is to always stay within the story. It is easy to stray, especially when doing practical items, like the soaker tub taps in the Hazelnut Inn. Our story places us in the past. A modern set of taps, while practical and easy would take us out of the story in an instant. We looked at everything available and then decided we would instead build our own. Since the tub is set inside a giant stone surround the pipes couldn’t have been hidden inside but rather be exposed. So we used our roller bender to form the copper pipes to suit and then soldered on the fittings. Those skills I learned from my dad as a kid about sixty years ago came in handy!
