Perennial project

The grandkid’s treehouse has been a work in progress for a very long time. It was built in the shop over the summer of 2018 and installed in October of that year. The kids have enjoyed the slide since the first day. The carved concrete faux boards on the outside of the house were done the next summer. Since then the interior was finished and it got a colourful paint job over last summer. The rope swing was added last fall. A sandbox was originally planned for the hollow underneath but that has since been changed to a landscape planter as the kids have a much larger sandbox nearer to the house. The planter may yet be done this growing season. The debate of late has been regarding the remaining trim. Many themes were considered. A dimensional heart theme to match our house was readily agreed upon recently. I designed and routed the pieces. Beck painted them up perfectly and I fastened them into place as soon as they had dried. The only remaining item left to finish was the space under the window. Originally, we tossed around the idea of a flower box but that idea was recently one-upped to be three creative birdhouses. With Janis art directing, I did up a quick sketch which was readily approved by all interested parties. Now it is time to get to work one more time and wrap up this perennial project at last.
