Sleeping through it all.

A little more than three years ago we finished the giant head for the Hazelnut Inn. It was one of the first pieces that needed to go into place, early in the construction process. A few weeks later it was craned up into position on the raised foundation of the structure. The North Star suite was then framed and finished while the sculpture dozed peacefully beside it. A retaining wall, fence, plasterwork and chimney were fabricated adjoining it, always carefully shielded from the construction activity. Now at last, the surrounding areas and features are getting their final finishes. And still the giant creature sleeps, oblivious to the goings on.
