About ten days ago I posted the concept drawings for two versions of the same building. One was drawn in a ‘Mission Style’ and the other was western. I actually did five versions of the building. I’ll be using the concept drawings as part of a presentation I am doing next month to illustrate how we can use architecture to create a wonderful space with a story that people will enjoy. The three additional versions were great fun to dream up. The first is a personal favourite theme using a steampunk style. The second is what I call ‘old world’ using timber construction. The third version has a maritime feel which would of course be augmented by some boats and other seaside artifacts. The five concepts illustrate how cosmetic changes to a building allows you to effectively tell a completely different story.
