Today was the day we were waiting for. The giant pump handle is now complete, which allowed us to switch over to the pump body. The two heavy sections were bevelled and then aligned with a laser to be perfectly straight. Then it was time to lay down three solid passes of steel bead to ensure a strong and permanent join for the huge pipes. With the two sections securely joined it is time to begin the handle mount and the spout.. It is looking more like the world’s largest hand pump every day!
