Farm truck beginnings

As we ramp up production in the shop, we begin a new project as soon as the last is under control. The newest project to begin is the duel wheeled, flatbed truck photo op for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch. Because the stationary vehicle will get a great deal of use everything needs to be heavy duty. We are using 10 gauge steel which is about three times thicker than what is used on a real vehicle. The 1920’s era truck will be about 2/3 scale and all scratch built. It measures about four feet wide and about nine feet long. We are lavishing the details on the truck from one end to the other. So far we’ve cut formed, fitted and welded more than 200 pieces. The truck will seat two adult guests in the cab with room for the rest of the family out back on the flat deck. We are making great progress with the wheels, axles, frame and radiator housing now complete. The goal is to finish up to the hood, cowl and perhaps even a bit of the roadster cab tomorrow. Stay tuned…
