Everything about the world’s largest hand pump is massive - and heavy. We hoisted the plasma cut pieces for the pump handle mount into place, Each piece took three people to lift. Then we carefully aligned them with the beginnings of the giant pin that will go through the mount and pump handle. The pin measures more than ten inches in diameter. Each piece was clamped securely and then tacked, checked and adjusted as required. Now the welding can begin. Root pass, filler passes and finally a beauty pass to finish things off.
