Yesterday, after work I proudly showed Janis a photo of the progress we had made on the new project we were undertaking. It will be an eighteen foot tall robot. Matt & I started with the heavy welded structure of the base of the upper stage. While I could clearly see the beginnings of a very fine robot, to Janis it looked an awful lot like a not very exciting, rectangular steel box. Her comments reminded me of my thoughts as Henry was working on his robot project a few weeks ago. I gave him some help but he directed the progress, telling me where to make the cuts and how the pieces would be arranged. While it didn’t look much like a robot to me I could tell Henry knew exactly what he was doing. He built with confidence, clearly visualizing the finished project. Or perhaps Henry was merely winging it - like I often do. :)
