Tying galvanized mesh onto an intricate armature is no easy task. It takes tremendous skill and a lot of patience. Plus a few band-aids. The diamond lath is stiff and very sharp. Tying the lath into place on flat surfaces is hard with tie wire and a pair of nippers is tricky. A very complicated shape like this dragon is a whole other matter! Matt polished off this piece today and made it look easy. Tomorrow, he and Peter will trowel on the fibreglass reinforced concrete and carve him to look like a stone statue. Stay tuned…
