The many features for NEB’s Fun World golf are being loaded and shipped out late this week. Everything is ready, save for one small piece - the sign for the Castle Golf. The sign is fully fabricated and the painting crew has been working on it. Just the lettering remains to be completed. It will of course be gilded with 23K gold leaf. We had to make sure all of the background paint was fully cured. Gilding is accomplished by pairing on a thin coat of size (similar to varnish) and the gold is then laid into the tacky paint at just the right moment. The gold also sticks well to paint that hasn’t fully cured. That’s why this job was left until the very last minute.
