Waterwheel is ready

Handling something as big and heavy as the waterwheel is a definite challenge. The waterwheel halves were not difficult to move with the forklift but weren’t very stable standing on their own. A custom-built pallet solved that problem perfectly. Once mounted to the stand the pieces are very secure and the assembly is easy to tie down to the truck when we ship. The reusable dolly wheels on the pallet make it easy to roll in the shop and out on the driveway and will drop off when we crane it onto the truck.

Splitting the waterwheel

It was a busy day in the shop as we welded on the waterwheel paddles and then disassembled the two halves. We gently tipped them vertically, one at a time and did the final welds on the bottom side. Then we fabricated a stand to which we will bolt the waterwheel halves for safe and secure transport. By quitting time today the waterwheel was ready to move out of the shop. Tomorrow we’ll do a complete clean and sweep and then start on a new set of projects. Stay tuned for much more…

Commemorative prints

Booking a room at the Hazelnut Inn will be an experience that is truly unique and very special in every way imaginable. We are currently dreaming up even more ways to take the experience over the top. Visiting guests will be presented with a limited edition print to commemorate their stay. The print edition is very small and will be unique to this suite. When this limited edition of prints runs out we will create a new drawing from which a different print will be created.
