Last week we met with a new client. These folks really understood the value of three-dimensional signs and sculptures through out the kid’s store we were planning. They encouraged me to hold nothing back as we explored ideas for their project. The primary theme was to be around the nursery rhyme ‘Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle...” The lobby area of the store will feature sculptures telling this old, old story. As we talked I scribbled furiously in my sketchbook, the ideas coming faster than I could begin to get them down. Before I turned each page I owed my clients and they literally signed off on them. It was magical the way the ideas were coming so fast and how we were so much in synch.
One of the ideas I couldn’t resist sharing here illustrates the last line of the poem... ‘and the cow jumped over the moon.’ The 3D sculpture will hang from the ceiling over the cash register. Best of all it is but one of many, many fun pieces that will keep us busy for months in our shop.
We will be having LOTS of fun in Yarrow...
