It was tricky without a proper hydraulic press but I managed to achieve the slight crease in the 10 gauge steel hood sides. A down and dirty folding jig with the power supplied by the tractor bucket was just the ticket to do the job. Then I welded in the little vent (a section of pipe) and a whole bunch of rivets to complete the task. I am really happy with the extra little detail where the headers go through the engine compartment cover. The hood sides change the look of the car in a big way! While I was at it I also cut and welded in the front frame horn apron which cleaned up the front of the car. The body fabrication is now almost complete.
