One of my favourite angles of viewing the front of the Hazelnut Inn is from the bridge, looking up the waterfall towards the tower. I love the play of the warm colours of the ship’s hull, building plasterwork, and brick against the cooler tones of the rock work and blue stained wood trim. Few will truly understand or appreciate the immensity of the task when this is all done and open for guests to enjoy, but every single square inch was hand sculpted by our hard working crew. Each of us did our part but it was Peter who masterminded the design of the Inn and guided every step of the construction. Matt and Peter did most of the detailed sculpting. Becke did the colour design and has had a big hand in the detailed finish painting effort. Grant had the tough job of mixing and delivering the hundreds of cubic feet of concrete in a timely manner to those applying it. This place has to be seen and studied up close in person to really appreciate the massive amount of work involved in it’s construction.
