The painting crew was busy all day laying the first blend coat of paint on the giant robot. At this stage it is getting a little closer to the end result, although much brighter and ‘newer looking’ than the final look will be. It is curious how much the piece appears to grow as we paint. He is going to be one very tall robot when he is assembled. Tomorrow another blend coat of paint will be applied. This will be allowed to cure until next week before we start in on the glazes, grime and weathering.
